I am a huge believer in the saying that life is what you make it. I am convinced that we are alive to do more than just survive: that we are here to be all that we can be. Unfortunately, most of us get content with living the life that is simply handed to us. We spend years stuck in jobs we don’t like as long as they pay the bills. Or worse still, we spend a lot of time wishing that our lives were somehow different or better. How many times have you wished that you:

Had a more toned body

Travelled more

Were good at a sport

Possessed a certain skill

Were more social?

I don’t know about you, but I am willing to bet that at some point or other you have wanted to be better at something. Sometimes the desire to be better can be very overwhelming at first, but it only lasts for a while. Be that as it may, you really have no reason to lead a life you do not want. You are far too smart to be the only thing standing between you and your dreams. Here are a few habits for more energy.

How to Go After Your Dreams

Travel more

Travelling is both refreshing and eye- opening. Most people have a bucket- list of places they want to visit. Maybe you have always wanted to visit Paris, the city of love, for some romantic reason. Or maybe Africa is on top of your list because of its beautiful scenery and thriving wildlife. Or maybe you are intrigued by the cultural intricacies of South America, and you feel that you must visit the place soon.

Unfortunately, these destinations might have remained on your bucket list for ages now. Now, every time you see The Eiffel Tower, a sense of disappointment overwhelms you instead of the excitement that once lit you up. You may be convinced that some destinations are destined to stay on your bucket list forever.

But nothing could be farther from the truth. You only need to take practical steps to make your dream come true and indeed it shall. Start by saving up for your trip. Be sure to set up a time- frame to save up the required amount of money. Then make sure to make travel plans as soon as you get the money. Afterwards, visit your destination and be sure to have the time of your life.

Exercise More

Another goal that most people set out to achieve is getting a toned body. Maybe all you want is to lose some stubborn arm or stomach fat. Or you want to get a ripped body that earns you approving nods as you walk around. Whatever spells dream body for you, there is only one way to attain it: start exercising.

There is no shortcut to getting a toned body; you simply must put in the required work. You should be ready to work out hard enough to turn your body into a fat- burning machine. Granted, it will not be easy and will require a lot of determination. Make a habit of doing daily morning exercises. Hire a personal trainer if you must. Do whatever it takes to achieve your goal.

You will need to keep your eyes on the ultimate prize and not get overwhelmed by the struggle and agony you have to go through. Nothing compares to the fulfillment of looking in the mirror and liking what you see, especially if you worked hard for it.

Go After New Experiences

Another way of going after your dreams is actively engaging yourself in new activities. Do you consider yourself a nerd who has absolutely no flair for sports? Then go out and try the first sport that catches your attention. Or do you consider yourself a sportsperson with absolutely no interest in reading? Make a habit of reading novels and newspapers. After all, how will you know whether or not you are good at something unless you try?

Try out activities that you ordinarily wouldn’t give a second thought to. Try yoga, meditation, cooking new meals, meeting new people, helping out at charity events or even programming. This will take you out of your comfort zone and give you a chance to experience different aspects of life.

It is often said that if you want to do something, you will find every reason to do it: if not, every excuse not to. Choose to be the person who finds reasons to do things. As long as you are alive, make sure to live with every fiber of your being. After all, you are only here for a while, so you might as well make the most of what life has to offer. If you are not obsessed with your life, change it!
